Feel mostly, and some sense of procedural play. I think I could get close to what I’m looking for with SW G&G, especially staking something like Hard Choices and Gritty Damage setting rules with it.Out of curiosity, is your goal more feel or actual playstyle replication> Shadowdark does the latter pretty well, but your could probably get the former from SW G&G.
I also found some stuff in Tyrandor. They have a setting rule that eliminates the golden hour for Healing checks. It also limits magical healing to new wounds suffered since the last time you were healed magically.Out of curiosity, is your goal more feel or actual playstyle replication> Shadowdark does the latter pretty well, but your could probably get the former from SW G&G.
Interesting. I had not seen that SW setting before.I also found some stuff in Tyrandor. They have a setting rule that eliminates the golden hour for Healing checks. It also limits magical healing to new wounds suffered since the last time you were healed magically.
Tyrandor also has an interesting way to deal with light sources (not sure if I’ll use it but it’s there) and procedures for light checks (torches burning out) and procedures for random monsters.
What do you have on deck for 2025?
What games are you looking forward to pulling off the shelf?I also intend to stand up an "RPG a month" series - in which I host (and probably usually run) a one-shot sessions of a game from my shelves that doesn't normally get played. A sampler-series, if you will.
