I like that the guardian naga seems to have more of a South Asian feel to it, which makes sense, given its origins.

I would have preferred they be giants. What about them is celestial, exactly?

They're wanting to move animal-type monsters with human-like levels of sapience out of the beast category, and are using the Beastlands as one of the likely origins for such creatures.

Fine with the change to Sphinx's too, not sold on their art though. I guess it makes for the change though.

Pretty sure they mentioned giant eagles (and owls) as specific examples that were changing, so...yeah.
