Action to use Cannons in Blades in the Dark

What action would people say governs the use of Cannons in Blades int he Dark. I'm starting a swashbuckly campaign, including ships with cannon and small cannon used on land to breach doors and walls. What actions would be used with them?

My current answer is that it depends on how you are using it.
Blowing a door or wall: Wreck
A front-mounted cannon on a galley: Finesse
Trying a long shot with a stationary gun: Hunt
Timing when to unload cannister in a melee: Skirmish

The trickiest position for me is a side-mounded gun on a ship, I can see this using Finesse (its on a vehicle), Hunt (its shooting), Skirmish (in a bigger fight), Wreck (to smash another ship), even Tinker (to avoid blowing the gun up, aiming is optional).

In BitD, the player decides which Action to roll, with the only caveat being don't be a weasel. So it really depends on the accompanying fiction of each instance of cannon use. But your list seems like an okay rough starting point, so long as the decision rests with the player and not the GM.

Yeah, I tend to forget this. My players are still new to BitD, even tough we began play last summer with some of the crew, most will be brand new and need some guidance.

Applying this actually makes it easier, it shifts some of the narrative burden onto the players. This does create a hurdle, more extrovert/creative players get a distinct advantage, while the more conventional/introvert players need some coaching. Then again, this is how it always is.
