If Shadowdark is compatible with b/x, couldn't you just use this?

Simple AC/HP/Attack conversions only work within the limitation of monsters being bags of hit points. In my experience, special abilities (including spells) don't translate as simply.
There are a ton of official monsters of every power level though, and I've found it pretty easy to find analogues for powers and abilities I wanted to write. For example, I just used the core Mage and Druid entries to write up a Skaven Grey Seer for SD.

I make a lot of Shadowdark monsters and the math is very easy once you try to reverse engineer a monster or two.

This is a good cheat sheet for those who want to skip that stage: Shadowdark Guide to Monster Statistics by Matt Dietrich

The project on Kickstarter looks like it'll be useful for sorting all the abilities into one spot, rather than requiring flipping through the book to find appropriate abilities. (I think that's what Kelsey has said is good about it, too.)
