we had no idea at the time who or what his contributions were.. we saved very little, and that was just a fluke

Obviously you can do what you will with that, but....

If you're interested, every year Luke Gygax does an auction for a charity fundraiser at Gary Con. Many of those attendees are huge old school fans, and there are several celebrities there each year (read: deep pockets). Something like original Wormy art would fetch a huge price, I would think. And it would be for a great cause.
