Wrath & Glory: experiences and thoughts?

How do people feel about this game? I'm especially interested in the feedback from people who have run and/or played it!
I got it, read it, decided not to run it.
Character gen felt a bit too convoluted.
The openness of the point spend felt too open.
As does the list of playable species.

Fascinating. I’ve read the opposite criticism on other boards and reddit: that the character system isn’t complex enough, that characters aren’t detailed enough.

Just curious: the edition you have, was it the original or the revised one from Cubicle 7?

Whichever one was in the bundle deal.
My taste in character gen is different than it used to be.
I no longer have the patience to run, say, FASA-Trek, with the involved lifepath... despite it fitting readably onto 2 pages.
This hybrid lifepath/point build is offputting to me not just in this case; I had the same visceral "Ugh" reaction to A Time Of War (the current Battletech RPG.) with a very similar build system.

We have finished the starter set which was good. Players have now rolled up their own pcs. They are a tier lower than starter set ones and you can see the difference. I think it will be quite a low combat campaign. In the grim dark of the future there is only diplomacy
