I can understand that.

What do you think about WotC using their own archive of text and images?
I don’t think it’s realistic to assume they can do that. It takes a lot of training data to build a reasonable model. WOTC doesn’t have enough material or enough talent.

But it’s all hypothetical anyway, I suppose, until Cocks tries to slip it into D&D Beyond to appease their dudebro shareholders.

I don’t think it’s likely that WOTC will use it in the creation of actual published D&D products. It’s just not worth it.

Just going to point out that spelling and grammer checker is a form of AI. So i am sure everyone already bought D&D products where AI was used.

So we are already past the question of if, and are now onto the question of how much.

Also, AI will get better.
Also the word wizard has both A and I in it, so technically the PHB already has AI in it! We've all been fooled!

I think AI can be used as a tool just like Photoshop, InDesign, Word, etc. I can see a place for it in many areas for WotC and D&D. Do I want adventures written by or art generated by AI, No! However, there are many ways it could be used responsibly and ethically that I would be OK with.
