Upcoming AAA/AA CRPGs or story-based RPGs (updated 15/04/2025)

I am excited. but now I don't know what to play: this, or BG3 Patch 8.
I mean, this isn't out yet AFAIK! It's just leaked that it actually exists! And I wouldn't go back to Oblivion until it does.

Likely we have months or more before it's actually available, so probably safe to play BG3.

I've updated the front page of the thread - only additions are Solasta 2 and Clair Obscur.

Next week.

Info about this actually leaked, originally, all the way back in 2023 - a guy nailed all the details (including the release window), and then later deleted the post. One particular thing he said which was interesting was that this is actually UE5 running the graphics (and maybe the physics - which it does look like), not GameByro, but with Creation/GameByro running the game systems.

If so that'd be a fairly major boost for future Elder Scrolls games, because they could actually have a decent graphics engine, maybe even good animation if that's in UE5 as well.

Looks like the Oblivion Remaster/Remake is real and going to be fairly pretty at the very least:

It's a remake though, right? Or it is actually a remaster: just tweaked up graphics and some QOL improvements on the base game?

Edit: OK it looks like a remake, not a remaster? That could put quite the kibosh on SkyBlivion :')

They rebuilt it in Unreal Engine, which will be greate for visuals, but i do not know how much of the old RPG system they kept. Hopefully that is just a "remaster" and they don't dumb it down too much.

I'm hoping for the same system (leveling, magic, etc), but with better feel+physics, ya know?
Hopefully, yeah - Oblivion is an interesting middle-ground between the bonkers do-anything energy of Morrowind and the simplifications of Skyrim, its customisable class system is a definite asset.

Wouldn't mind if they scaled up the map a bit, though - that Imperial capital city that you can practically pick up and put in your pocket was always a little weird, especially with the clear sightlines and long draw distance letting you see the scope of the whole thing from any high vantage point.
