A brand new Villains & Vigilantes adventure in 2025?

Putting this up over here because it was really unexpected and FGU is one of very few gaming companies that have made it to 50 years old (with some torpid stretches, admittedly) so any new material is like finding a four-leaf clover. This wasn't even on their "Coming Soon" page. The last new thing for V&V was the third part of the Triskelion trilogy in 2021, and that includes the stuff from Monkey house Games.

Weirdest pitch I've ever seen. Tells you nothing about the actual adventure, but Scott's really happy to get a submission from someone who can write, illustrate and do maps all in one package.

"Here There Be Demons" is the latest adventure for V&V from Joe Liotta. Whenever we accept an adventure (or villains compendium) for V&V we alway advise the author that he or she does not really know what the characters look like beyond any general description provided in the test. The author will only "know" the characters' appearances when the assigned artist has completed the cover, illustrations and counters for the project. But, in this case (as in others written by Joe Liotta), the author and artist are the same person – which leads to a more fully realized image of each character and more accurate maps of the locales within the adventure book. For this reason I must admit that I am always extremely happy when the author of a book is also an artist who can be assigned the job of illustrating that book. It is especially satisfying when that author is also fully able to draw detailed maps, which not all artists are willing or able to do, and when that artist is the one who originally visualized those locations for the adventure.
Also not showing up on DTRPG yet, or even the main part of the FGU store, just New Releases.

V&V games saw me through many a high school game session - we werent allowed to play proper D&D (thanks satanic panic) but were allowed to play RPGs with superheroes.
Didn't realise it was still going to be honest. A rabbit hole to look at tonight :)

It's not exactly thriving, but there's been a surprising amount of new stuff since FGU went quiet back around the early 90s. There's something just shy of 60 things on DTRPG for V&V, and about half of it is post-2000. Plus there's everything from Monkey House Games, who actually own the core rules for all three+ editions and a few of of the early supplements (Most Wanted and Crisis At Crusaders' Citadel). It's an odd situation, but it's not dead - just not lively.

FGU's also quietly come out with other stuff over the years, with some fairly new Space Opera books and more in the works, a new physical printing of Bushido and some adventures, an alternate (post-asteroid impact) setting for Aftermath, etc. If they advertised any of it off of their site I never saw it, but after realizing how much there was I make a point of checking the site now and then to see if there's any new surprises.

Pretty nostalgic if you're in the right age range. They were a pretty big company back in the 70s and 80s, even if its gotten hard to remember that sometimes.
