Hey, folks! I'm launching my Kickstarter for Martial Artistry on June 15th! What's it contain?

lineup(1).png

Four new Heritages, three new Cultures, and two new Backgrounds!
These new heritages are designed from the start to be options for both Fantasy and Sci-Fantasy character options.

Four new Classes (with two Stretch Goal Classes!)
The Champion, the Gunslinger, the Sentinel, and the Warcaster are already in the book. The Blackguard and Swordmage are the Stretch Goals. Each has 4 archetypes to start.

Ten new Archetypes for existing classes!
Whether it's a Herald that swears the oath of the Warbringer, or an Eco-Terrorist Druid, these archetypes will add some interesting options for your table!

Twelve new Martial Traditions!
With 16 new combat maneuvers in each of the new traditions, that's a lot of combat customization!

New Combat, Social, and Reward Systems!
The new Mass Combat structure will make things easy to handle when you flip between the scales of personal and army level conflicts and allow your player characters to take important roles within it. The Social Combat structure gives an option to put realistic limits on how much pressure your players can put on NPCs before talking things out is no longer an option. And with the Fealty system, you can provide your players with connections to the game-world and a reference that lets them show you what they want as rewards while leveling up!

More options than you can shake a long sword at!
A firearms revamp to bring them in line with other weapons damage ranges while still being a good option, new weapon traits, new armor options, magical banners, alternate class features for strong rogues and heralds without spellcasting, a simple injury system, martial knacks, combat synergies, so many options to better customize your characters! There's even Assistive weapons and combat wheelchair options for your players of disabled characters, whether permanent or only temporary thanks to the injury system!

So sign up for the Backerkit, now, and use this thread as an Ask Me Anything!

Are you using Ai art again in this one?
No, there is no AI art or Large Language Model material (Chat GPT, Gemini, Etc) involved in this product.

I was able to use proceeds from Paranormal Power to hire Vin Werneck on to do the Cover Art and several interior pieces, then chose to use Dean Spencer's collection of stock art to fill the work out with a few specific pieces of art by Purple Duck Games, Lore Wise Games, and Rad Loot to fill in a few hard to cover spots!

AI was not involved in this project at any point, even for placeholder artwork.

Then you just got yourself a backer!

As for the heritages, the one second from the left and the last one look interesting. The former looks they're from the Japanese series Kamen Rider. Kamen Rider media usually revolves around the titular defined group of motorcycle-riding superheroes with an insect motif who fights supervillains.
The Sevens are designed to be a variable-bodytype organosilicate life form which live mostly in a hive-colony structure and grow their young to fulfill certain sociological or mechanical functions! What you're looking at, there, is a bipedal Sevens built for social interaction with extraterrestrials on behalf of the colony. Though he's also a starship engineer!

And yes, Vin Werneck decided to take inspiration from kamen riders, the guyver, and other similar material for insectoid characters to develop it!

The guy on the far right, and the girl on the far left, are both Drek. A heritage of much more animalistic creatures meant to be closer to an owlbear in their design than your traditional tabaxi or kenku 'animal person'. They're all designed as a combination of lizards and felines, conceptually, that enjoy different methods of prey-hunting behavior as part of their heritage gifts!

Whether you're looking for a drek to act like a crocodile to sneak up on someone at the waterside, run them down and pounce as a persistence predator, or drop right out of a tree onto their heads, the drek have you covered!
