I'm saying that they really didn't break their backs making something new and interesting.

the mystic from UA 10 years ago is still better than this.
No need to vote red though, not voting at all would be the way to go if you don’t care.

As has been pointed out, its significance is narrative, not mechanical. It’s a prerequisite for Dark Sun, and it means WotC can put “this character is a psion” in an adventure, even if the DM prefers to substitute a different version.

Like you, I’m fine with the Aberrant Mind sorcerer, and wouldn’t have a problem with a player changing it to int based casting and refluffing. But I have to take into account that it’s not just about me.

so I don't have a say in the poll because I hate the current take on the psion?

I do care, that is why I will downrank it to the max.
maybe enough of us will do it and they will return to the drawing board.

And come back to the mystic, which was rejected 10 years ago, but you happen to like? Never gonna happen.

All that will happen if this is rejected is it will be another 10 years before they have another go (which will again be rejected). And no Dark Sun for anyone. I'm not a fan of the setting, but I know a lot of other people are. And I care about other people as well as myself.

maybe they can get few versions of psion out and see what sticks.

but with this kind of desing, they can just say, in Darksun spells are psionic powers and that is it.
just make several subclasses for current classes and be done with it.

Fair play but out of curiosity, why were power points rejected? It seems the best way to differentiate between magic and psionics.
IMO, it's because you end up spamming the same thing every round. Then want to take a rest.

I.e. cast fireball 4 times then sleep

As much as I don’t want yet another full caster, the fact that they have different levels forces you to cast different spells.

They tried that, and you know what stuck? Nothing.

You are clearly not familiar with the setting. Having both magic, which leaches life from the land, and psionics, which does not, is essential.

just make a mechanic to stop that ideally one that risk death thus it will only come up in desperate situations

Just force the points to be spread out.

I.e.
You have psi point equal to your level,.and gain 1 per turn.
Level 5: regain 2 per turn
Level 11: regain 3 per turn
Level 17: regain 4 per turn.

I also like

Overload
Maximize damage roll, but then you are stunned/ unconcious until the end of your next turn.

Keeping track of regenerating spell points is many times more complicated than any of my players would be interested in.

Missing turns does not fun gameplay make.
