I’m not surprised sales were bad in 2013. 4e had essentially been dead for several years by then, and 5e was still in the playtesting phase. There were no new, readily available D&D products to buy in 2013. The playtest era adventures were mainly for organised play or con exclusives etc.

Peak 5E was around 6 years. 2017-22/23

I adjusted for inflation it was approximately twice as long and twice as big as TSR peak.

Did you know how much of the pie was DDI in 2013? No? That's new. And rather important given DDB today.

Its been public knowledge for ages.

Yeah ots something like that. I remember WotC mentioning 165 million.

That's X11 right there. If there's another higher number wouldn't surprise me.
ICV2 gave 13 or 14 million years ago for 2013. Not far off Riggs numbers.

We have already seen other quotes that 2024 has outsold 2014 at least in the initial year, so certaintly didn't peak in the timeframe quoted. It seems to still be going.

Right but the point was we haven't likely hit peak 5e yet if the 2024 numbers have outsold the 2014 ones, at least in these initial couple of years it has been out.

You would have to compare it to 5.0s best year. That was the peak not 2014.

IDK, I hadn't seen any numbers on what they made from DriveThruRPG before. That was interesting.
