Level Up (A5E) Wildborne ranger spells

My wildborne ranger (1/3 spellcasting archetype of the new ranger) wants to learn the spell ensnaring strike. It feels fitting for a ranger (since its a ranger spell in dnd 5e), specially the character I envision.
But the problem is wildborne rangers cast druid spells, and this spell is not in A5E and is exclusive to rangers in 5e. How do I convince my DM? I personally dont tjink it will break anything, but i need a good argument to convince him.

I don't see a problem with the spell. It's a strong spell and the condition scales.
This spell synergizes with HEX which means teamwork with you and a potential Warlock. It doesn't have to be a creature on the ground which means you can ensnare flying creatures.

There are no Ranger spells in A5e but A5e is meant to be, in some ways, compatible with 5e. I haven't tried to convince any DM of an change to a character - I just present it as a cool thing I would like to include with their consent and then move on. If the change becomes problematic later on, we discuss and change it. You can try that.

I like this idea, if its problematic, we can easily go back and change.

About the specific spell, i think the fact thst it affects only one creature kinda balances the fact it can restrain a flying creature (which is very strong indeed). The only thing the feels out of place is the damage while restrained. Even though it's small damage and the creature will probably take it once or twice, its more dice rolled and slows down the gsme than anything else. If I were to change the spell, that's one thing I would take away. Maybe thats another option, "nerf" the spell a bit so its more in line with druid spells.

I think using 5E D&D and/or D&D 2024 Ranger spells with an A5E Ranger is quite reasonable.

We're using 5E D&D spells with A5E, in cases where there is no equivalent A5E spell. There are a few cases that have been disallowed, such as Hellish Rebuke, as that has been replaced by the Warlock's Eldritch Riposte and the melee Arcane Riposte spell. Generally, we haven't found any problems with this. There are a few spells such as Sickening Radiance where we dropped exhaustion to simplify the mechanics for virtual tabletop, and fatigue gained during combat in A5E is ignored anyway per page 449 of the A5E core rulebook.

If you want to speed up play, I would suggest that Ensnaring Strike inflict 2d6 damage on the turn it is cast, if the target fails its save.

As the restrained condition is quite nasty to combatants without decent ranged attacks, I'm inclined to house rule that characters with extra attack, or monsters with multi-attack, can use each of those attacks to try to escape. If they succeed then they can still attack if they have any attacks left, rather than it requiring their full action.

I would just present your argument as you've done here. There's no good reason I can see for your GM to refuse. Do you know why they would?

IT turned out i t was just my insecurity against something not "orthodox". He said he woyld think a out it, but in a tone im prettybsure he will accept it. Another reason is we had a bad experience with 3rd party unbalanced content in the early 5e years. But anyway, thanks everybody for your suggestions.
