General video game discussion

It’s certainly not any worse than Civ-1 since it came out, I want to say three years later (1994 ompared to 1991).
I fired up the original and am having lots of fun, though I’m pretty terrible. It’s interesting to see the influences from both Civilization and Magic the Gathering. I also like how wildly unbalanced the races are - usually I’m a balance zealot but in this case I rather appreciate the chutzpah with which they threw all concept of balance out the window.

In regard to Master of Magic what I recommend is the massive additional content DLC ("Caster of Magic") for the original that dropped roughly around the same time that the remake came out
I’m trying it raw for now, might give Caster a go later.

I am actually still waiting to get Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom for Switch. My Sister lent me hers indefinitely and I have not been playing because Warhammer and the lack of games she has for it. But I wanted to get them from EB Games and the EB Games here at least still has the damn "Game Stop" sign. I have never shopped at a "Game Stop" in my life. I want the proper EB Games sign up before I go in. But chance of that happening before Black Friday is about nil. Even Christmas.
My youngest has both for her Switch. She's not at all an RPG or CRPG gamer, but loved both.

It could be fun for a while, but after a bit it didn't feel good to know if you were taking some of the races as you main race it was masochistic (warlocks and halfing slingers could be pretty OP, but in the late game paladins were just OP as could be because so much started turning on magical attacks).

And, of course, as I noted the Diplomacy system might as well almost not have been there.
