I dunno ... it feels like they're trying too hard to capture the tone of the Van Damme/Raul Julia movie and falling flat in doing so.

The original Street Fighter didn't kill Raul Julia; he was already dying and let his grandkids pick his last movie, and they picked Street Fighter. He also, like most of the cast of that movie, completely understood the assignment and feasted on the scenery. As the youths say, he ate and left no crumbs.

Andrew Schulz absolutely sucks and the silver lining is that he appears to be playing a character whose only role in the franchise is for you to enjoy watching him get punched in the face repeatedly, so there's that. He was definitely the worst part of The Game Awards show that didn't involve gratuitous shots of Lara Croft's butt.

The overall cast is absolutely insane (Orville Peck as Vega?!?!) and it looks like it could be dumb fun if they're keeping their tongues firmly in cheek. Which, like, how could they not be with that absolute commitment to Guile's hair, at the very least. And they beat the crap out of a car! That's something they do in the game!

Of course it's going to be bad, but the point is, is it going to be the good kind of bad?

I either didn't see it, or they messed it up.

Guile was a military guy with a Flat Top (tall flat top, but still, a flat top).

Best Street Fighter movie is still the Animated Street Fighter II movie.

I'll hold out on judgement on this one, but that advertisement/trailer doesn't build up my hopes very much. The original Live Action with Jean-Claude Van Dam (whch was absolutely miserable) looks like it may even be better than this one if we go by the trailer.

The story might have been simple, but the world building through the movies was exceptional.

I think at this point it's become a point of pride for me that I haven't seen it. Also, I think you're trying to trick me into it.
