Spoilers Stranger Things Season 5 - SPOILERS

It annoyed me how Mike kept saying Will's powers were innate. I think maybe Mike doesn't know what innate means. Then again, Mike annoys me a lot. He's probably one of my least favorite characters on the show.
Yeah, his overbearing personality was important at the beginning of the series, when he was required to motivate everyone to find Will and to save Eleven. Now he's just irritating. Happily, they have dialed back how central he is to the plot. (They're actually doing pretty well juggling all the characters this season, although I imagine people who don't love Holly, like my wife doesn't, might find she's in too much of the final season.)

I think Holly and Delightful Derek will be the linch pin in unraveling Vecna's plan. The others will fight hard, almost getting the job done, there could be betrayal by Kali, but the younger ones will make a move that will allow the others to put an end to the villain. Possibly rallying others kids around the table against Vecna.
I think Derek's dark night of the soul is going to play into the finale.

The fact that Henry didn't even try to patch up the dream version of Holly should make all the kids (except for the openly misogynistic 11 year old, whom I'd be OK with seeing eaten by a demogorgon) wonder if she was telling the truth.

Wrapping up a big series like this is very hard, as Lost famously showed. With one episode to go, I think the Duffer Brothers have done about as well as anyone could expect with wrapping things up well. (I do like that we finally got an explanation for how they all ended up at the radio station, via Max.) We'll see if they stick the landing.

I think everyone but the core kids is expendable -- they're repeatedly putting Karen Wheeler in danger of dying -- but I'm not convinced they'll kill any of the original crew.

Killing Will, Robin or Vickie would play into the very bad "kill your gays" trope, although Vickie otherwise has "killed by a monster" written all over her.

I think Steve and Dustin's "if you die, I die" pact certainly means we're going to come close, at least, to losing one or both of them, although given what Dustin has gone through after Eddie's death, that would be pretty cruel to do to him a second time. Likewise, Max and Lucas are probably safe, for the same reason, with Max probably getting her mobility back at a dramatically appropriate moment.

The science teacher -- whom they should have brought in on the secret at least a season or two ago -- is almost certainly dead meat.

Murray, who hasn't had much to do this season other than to deliver plot coupons, is probably going to be given one great final scene and exit the series in bloody fashion.

Kali almost certainly won't be making it out of this alive. I get the idea that we're supposed to be rooting against her, but she's not wrong with anything she's said so far.

Hopper and Eleven also seem to be in danger of not making it back to Hawkins, although Eleven being trapped in the Abyss once the Upside Down is destroyed also feels like an appropriate ending.

She may not be wrong in her assessment of continual governmental attempts to reconstruct the program, but her solution comes from her being broken by her experiences. I think that puts her on a path to become a tertiary villain behind Vecna and Dr. Kay. And I think that's kind of sad, in a predictable way. But that may also mean the Duffers will subvert it and Kali might yet find the grit to have a more constructive fate.

I think Murray got shot driving the truck and is probably already dying. He could go in a blaze of glory against Dr Kay, as she will probably immediately follow them into the Upside-Down.

Oh, she is definitely wrong in her tone and willingness to let everyone die, if need be, to save the world.

She could definitely break bad, though, including Henry turning her against humanity to rule the Abyss at his side.
