Atlantis is well worked out and visually interesting.

It certainly kicks the crap out of the DCEU's weightless neon Atlantis.

I dunno...these trailers are good and all but at the end of the day they've got to pull all these individual strands into a pair of cohesive movies. It's not that they can't do it - we've seen Infinity War, Endgame and Deadpool and Wolverine but they've also added a lot of dead weight and narrative loose threads to their cinematic universe in the meantime too.

I don't think it is controversial to say that the lead up on IW/EG was much, much better.

Exactly. They were really riding high on a wave of goodwill going into those movies.

I remember that Namor/Atlantis was supposed to be a thing for that movie. Do you think Sue is going to get the mom hots for him in Doomsday?

On one hand I'm going to say yes, because Abslantis will not be denied. On the other hand, I have a feeling Doomsday will have quite a lot of other stuff going on. Maybe there'll be some heated looks and Namor and Sue can get up to something in a later movie.

I don't think it is controversial to say that the lead up on IW/EG was much, much better.

It helps that we had multiple movies leading up to Thanos being a big threat.

We'll never know if we would have gotten that if Jonathan Majors hadn't gone off the deep end, but we are looking at a situation where the threat in these two movies will more or less come out of nowhere now.

This. There's already plenty of precedent in the MCU for having different actors playing variants of the same character (e.g. Loki, Spider-Man, etc).

Yeah, Kang of all characters can easily be played by an infinite number of actors, each of whom presumably would be vetted by private investigators this time around.

...and a hapless Reed trying to figure out what to do about it - that whole thing could be a nice little source of drama/comedy. I can see Sue nemused at Reed as he tries to nerd-ily out-macho Namor.
