Someone gave my kids a Spiderman chutes and laders last year. Its terrible, but teaches them basic board game rules and I dont feel bad when I beat them because its all about luck.

Hopefully they will be old enough for Mall Madness soon the ultimate family boardgame.
Lol, I thought you were going to say "wonder if they'll be old enough to appreciate WotC's next release announcement"

might be missing sea lions
There's a reason they didn't reprint sea lions, Whizbang. We shall resume in an hour.

That was their original intent for 5e. But then it got popular
Not quite. The intent was to provide small ongoing support. Two books or so per year. Out of the Abyss and Princes of the Apocalypse were planned and SCAG and the "cancelled" EEPG were developed as supplements. If the ST/CR boom hadn't happened, I think we would still have gotten most of the APs and ...of Everything books would have been released.

Too soon since it came out, just to reprint it for 2024.
May 2022. So it'll be four years by the time it could come out later this year. (They're not likely to make a May 2026 street date, I don't think.)

To be clear, I don't expect that for 2026, but I wouldn't be at all shocked to see a version of it (presumably expanded with some of the monsters that have come out since) in 2027 or 2028.
