If you read the blurb on the preview page (what's visible of it) it implies they are an offshoot of lycanthropes who couldn't fully transform and mutated into a species of permanent hybrid form humanoids. I guess it gives them a niche without redoing shifters (who are very Eberron tied)

And I'm down for that. Shifters have never landed for me. They're an uncomfortable middle ground between beastmen and catgirls that lacks narrative focus and visual flair. So if this is a new, more Ravenloft flavor "playable wereworlf" option? Color me tentatively interested. Final judgment reserved for seeing the complete package, of course.
