Nimble expansion

This is the one thing about Nimble I can't wrap my head around. It just seems such an immense shafting of martials and the concept of heavily armored fighter. The fact that the second goblin to attack you this turn completely ignores your full plate really makes this hard for me to make peace with.
And it bugs me, because there is so much to like about Nimble.
I get this, but if you are going to be the tank (which I think is what they are going for), then you need to "use actions" to be a tank. This way, the fighter with great armor isn't doing tons of damage and absorbing all damage. To me, it seems like a system build on risk/reward and roles.

Precisely this. It's a step away from the "auto-win" combos and "everything's a net positive" in D&D (outside of pass/fail checks and several other things, I know, but I mean compared to earlier editions). Each of your 3 actions in a round is a clear choice because you not only weigh action vs reaction timing, but also things like the Defend maneuver which have considerable benefits but aren't always on.

Plus the whole narrative side of it, which took a bit to grow on me, but coming from Cortex and the like, it wasn't too much of a growing pain.

I canceled my pledge.

I'm going to take a deep breath, find time to play the quickstart, and if we all like that I will buy the 3 basic books. If we like THAT I can think about all the expansion stuff.

I found myself pledging $190 for an entire shelf of content...admittedly really amazing-looking content...and I don't even know yet if I will like it.

I don't do crowdfunding anymore because of this feeling.
