Ravenloft: The Horrors Within

Ravenloft: The Horrors Within Announced, Release Date Scheduled for June 2026

Lord Soth is a death knight but that doesn't mean he's the only one. For example there are canon Krynnians DK: Ausric Krell the Betrayer, Lord Venris Stormshield, Knight of the Blood Sword.

Sithicus could be a perfect place in the case you wanted a horror-comedy where the survivors are no-too-smart kenders. And the vampire kenders are canon in Sithicus.

The current canon about Sithicus says the ruler is Azrael Dak, a dwarven werebardger and the darlady is the vistani Inza Magdova Kulchevi. Both characters appeared in the novel "the Knight of the black Rose".

What if a magic mirror creates a clone with the opposite aligment, and a second mirror creates a second clone with the same aligment than original?

Sithicus could be interesting if you want an alternative to zombie apocalipse, something more about "shadow anomalies" style Death Stranding videogames.

* What happens with new characters from 3e age? For example "S". Could they keep being canon in 5.5?

Is it from somewhere else? If so, where? And why
Yes.
More than likely Ravenloft.
Because it looked cool.

And really: "We're not going to announce the Q4 book at this time because we want to build hype and have something to share later. Anyway, here is a picture of a well known character from that unannounced book..."

Where is the art from, specific ly, I could not find it in a reverse image search?

Ravenloft is a strong possibility, yes.

I think they should be brave and add a Solamnic Knight mustache to that gooey Soth head. The Nosferatu remake was in 2024, crazy undead mustaches are back in!*

*Though I actually recall a large number of people hating the mustache in Nosferatu...

I don’t know, but then there probably is a lot of D&D art I have never seen.

That there is a hand on his shoulder to me means he was taken from a bigger picture that was meant for a different purpose, I assumed it would have been taken from something that had been published, just like many of their marketing pictures are, but that is just a guess

Appears not, seems to be something new.
