D&D 3E/3.5 stonegod's 3E->4E "Conversions" Discussion

Over in Plots and Places is a thread where I am kicking the tires of the new system by updating some of my character concepts from other games (or PCs in games I DM). Nothing works better than some examples in my mind.

Played 4E for the first time this last Saturday, it was great!

Are there any plans to switch the boards over to the new system?

Very interesting to see your conversions! Which do you think turned out the best? Too bad you can't convert your orcish artificer!

New game will be in any system that GM wants. LEW and LEB are staying 3.5, though there are efforts to fork a 4E LEW in the works.

Weapon I like the best: Unkillable killing machine. Ari works well, though w/o the abberant mark it seems he is missing something.

Yes, Dragonmarks... no doubt will become Encounter or Daily powers. I have a Deneith PC in the group I run and we're grappling with how to represent that in 4E.... we'll see.

Ha ha, unkillable killing machine does have a nice ring to it!

I haven't tried to convert Genithar yet, but maybe I'll take a swipe at it... though Wulfcyne would probably easier to do.

He actually has an axe in 3.5, but that's a Dex weapon, and Weapon is all about the Str and Con.

Looking at my PHB it appears that axes are Str and Con weapons, and and the fighter powers that call them out usually give extra damage equal to Con. So it doesn't appear that you necessarily have to change the weapon Weapon is wielding.
