    How important is it to you or your players for characters to feel "overpowered"?

    I really don't care if my characters suck, mainly because I play mostly OSR stuff. In a 5E game I guess my characters "power level" kind of matters, because it'd be boring to be left behind the people doing actual character builds.

    oh wow totally and shamefully missed that bit. ok, i'd say that out of recent books Electric Bastionland takes the cake. generally just anything that has Alec Sorensen art, like the revised Stygian Library.

    OSR 1 Gp vs 1xp?

    I once ran a game with the 1gp=1xp rule, and the players still took around a year to hit lvl.4 because they avoided taking treasure and going into dungeons.
