    D&D 5E Make SPELLS Balanced

Wow, I went halfway through the first page and liked a couple posts before thinking to glance at the date of posting. Oops!

D&D (2024) Why are you still playing D&D?

I still play D&D for a couple reasons. The major one is I like Organized Play for the consistent rules and the ability to play the same characters with different DMs, and I feel like I have a choice between Adventurer's League and Pathfinder Society for that. Of the 2, Adventurer's League lets...

D&D (2024) Paladins can Smite on Ranged attacks (with thrown melee weapons) now!

I actually have a build centered around this, using the Spear of Backbiting from Tomb of Horrors (it's an Adventurers League character, so I have more access to magic items compared to a home game). He's a Tortle Ancients Paladin 15/Warlock 1, although the Tortle part isn't necessary for the...

2FA (and other) emails not being sent.

    Seems to be fixed.

2FA (and other) emails not being sent.

Any update on this? It's a pretty huge problem for anyone using 2FA.

2FA (and other) emails not being sent.

I just had to use a backup code to log in, because ever since the update I haven't received any emails from ENWorld. I was also supposed to get an email saying I used a backup code, but didn't receive that either. Once I was in I checked my email address, but that is still correct.

D&D (2024) The bladelock two-weapon fighter: fundamentally unsound?

The Shillelagh (Club) idea is something I may have to try at some point, just to see how practical it is. The only other way I know of to dual wield with a Charisma based bladelock is to be a Hexblade, since Hex Warrior and Pact of the Blade should be able to be put on 2 different weapons. I...

    D&D (2024) What's Your Experience Like with '24?

I've been playing with the 2024 rules in Adventurer's League, which just started requiring rather than encouraging them a few days ago. So far there are more things I like than dislike, but some of the background rulings annoy me (more of an AL thing than a 2024 thing though, like feats from old...

D&D 5E Players, would you play in a multi-year campaign that used only the 5.1 SRD?

I didn't know how to vote, because my answer is yes under 1 very specific circumstance. I would pretty much only play an open hand monk in this type of campaign. One thing I just can't get past is that the only available feat is Grappler, a feat so weak that you can do the same thing but better...

Commentary thread for that “Describe your game in five words” thread.

https://www.enworld.org/threads/describe-your-last-rpg-session-in-5-words.679952/post-9143107 Playing an Adventurer's League dungeoncraft adventure called SJ-DC-VMT-01 Waterdeep: Statue Heist. Very silly adventure, lots of fun. Four of the walking statues were turned into spelljamming ships and...

D&D 5E DMs, how do you fudge?

There's no option for "I love fudge as a dessert but don't fudge in other ways", despite having the option for not liking fudge as a dessert, so I voted other. ;)

    D&D 5E Where's the Dump?

I hate dump stats, but with point buy they're almost unavoidable on certain classes. Given a choice I'd dump CHA, since I'm not that good at talking to npcs anyway, but if the class is based on it I'll dump STR or DEX instead. I almost never dump INT because I like having smart characters and...

    D&D 5E Levels 1-4 are "Training Wheels?"

I find levels 1-2 very boring for most classes, with the exceptions being fighters at 2 and classes that get their subclass at 1-2 once they get it. I feel like they were intended to teach you the basics of the class without any extras to distract you, which is totally fine as long as I'm not...

D&D 5E What Do You Need to Roll Up a New Character?

I don't really need anything other than my phone for dndbeyond, which I guess counts as a computer, although I did vote for the player's handbook as well since that's the minimum I'd be satisfied with as far as allowed resources. With only basic rules I'd pretty much be locked into playing a...
