How do you deal with a bad DM?

Talk to the DM, as suggested above. If that doesn't work, maybe you want to consider switching DMs? I;ve had a DM who did the opposite--he described everything in such detail that by the time he was done, you'd forget what he was describing. But once we talked to him, he was able to bring it...

D&D 4E How could 4E be more elegant?

Elegant? I've got an answer for flexible. I think the 4.0 magic system should be modeled after the 3.5 psionics system. More adaptable, more fun. The system would work well for spontaneous casters, but I'm not sure how they would work wizards into the equation.

Hell has frozen over..DriveThruRPG selling non-DRM books

I wonder how much the watermark system will really help? So if they find a pirated copy of a PDF online and it bears their watermark, and they had 300 customers buy a copy, it doesn't seem to help much, does it? But I do think they are moving in the right direction. I certainly haven't bought...

Are wilders really as broken as I think they are?

Wilders kind of remind me of Warmages. They do their thing, and they do it well. But the lack of versitility can really hurt them in the long run. Here are some suggestions: 1) Power resistance. If you play with the psionics/magic transparency, then creatures with spell resistance also...

    How evil is your evil?

I think there is a decently obvious line as to what is good and evil in a game. Things that border on that line (say, a merchant ripping off her customers) may not be "good" but certainly is a CN act at best. Evil should be reserved for acts that are usually deliberate in nature, harming or...

    My Players wont Roleplay

The ideas I posted worked well for me in the past with a group of mostly new-to-RPGs players. I've used the same method with groups of experienced players who have some RP problems (i.e powergaming, players who play "themselves" or the same character over and over again), and again found it to...
