House Rule for Healing in 5th Edition D&D

Personally I prefer the idea that the rules applying to the players are separated from the rules applying to the NPCs (rest of the world). I don't like to have crippled PCs running around unless it's something I want to do for a particular adventure. But for NPCs? Sure! Whatever needs to be done...

    D&D 5E Weak Saving Throws

Well said! With bounded accuracy and the way they describe how you can build encounters, you still want your low level Orc shaman to be a (small) threat to the party. And it will for those characters who are not proficient in the targeted save. But this Orc shaman will be quickly dispatched...

Skeletal Society: A D&D Next Fan Adventure

Hi, I just discovered these 2 adventures, and I have to say that I really liked them. I'm planning on making new characters for my group in 2 weeks and I'll start with Rats in the Sewers. So I hope too that the third and final installment of this trilogy will be soon available. Congratulation...

Skeletal Society: A D&D Next Fan Adventure

I really like that these adventures are not only about combat encounters. That's a big plus for me, and I can't wait to see the last part of this trilogy. Excellent work! :)

    Wondering waht other DMs do...

I would tell them, but not using a straight forward approach (so not mentionning the words : elite, standard and minions). I would make sure the desription of the bad elite guy is awesome compared to the minions. Remember, the more description you give about something, the more the PC think it...

Stay back! The joy of OAs.

Am I wrong, or couldn't an opponent move up to 2 squares from the fighter with one move action, then use a minor action to shift one more square towards the fighter and become adjacent. From there, standard action to attack him/her. Also I don't think the interrupt would invalidate the move...

Something about KotS I adored (Spoilers)

Yeah, plus the pit trap in the DMG awards XP, which KotS doesn't mention... :(

    Magic rings

All right. So that would explain why I can't find it. ;)

    Magic rings

I remember from the preview articles on Wizards website that character of heroic tier could not wear a ring, paragon tier were limited to one and epic tier could have two. But I don't find that info in the books. Anyone knows ?

    D&D 4E No evil gods in 4e?

Also the excerpt for orcs mention : So my guess is that the designers removed the temptation for players to worship evil gods by placing them in the MM and maybe in the DMG as well. ;)

Inquiring Clerics Want to Know: God Crunch

I like very much the idea of different classes to model different character concepts. I hope this will be covered in future books. :)

    The big announcement: 4dventure

So 4th is coming... Maybe it's been already pointed out. But did anyone notice that the path adventure from Paizo Publishing is going till ... April 2008. And I read that 4th starts in May 2008. I say there are no coincidence. The Paizo people knew very well what was going to happen, and they...

    Alternate cross-class skill system

A friend of mine want to add a house rule and I would like to have your opinion. He would like to allow the characters to buy the untrained cross-class skills the same way you buy class skills. BUT the max rank remains the same [so (lvl+3)/2]. I'd like to point out that it's only for the...
