You don't lose Suggestion, you just have to figure out another way to fascinate a creature, such as through the Hypnotism spell. Alternatively, you can just get the Bard's Fascinate ability back, while keeping Healing Hymn, by dropping a level into the Virtuoso PrC in Complete Adventurer.

Thought I'd chime in after reading. Have we considered the possibility that the miss print was VoP being in the prereqs for the AoP? I mean, it's an Apostle of Peace, not poverty- the req seems inconsistent with the theme of the class. If you want VoP, then take it and forsake magic items, but...
