I particularly like the feat that gives 1+ to deference with a light weapon on the off hand; I have a really cool bard that basically ducks and weaves into combat with a shortsword and longsword.
I'd be giving up my 10th level spell then, no? Alas, I don't even have anyone to play this game with xD. I am just doing this for my own amusement tbh.
My character that I am making right now is largely an avatar for myself, so he is an INTP Bard of Lore :p. I find Myers Briggs to make very good character silhouettes that one can fall back on when wondering what that character would do in a particular scenario.
So I guess the issue I have is that from a mechanics standpoint I can't see what role the seperate Bards fill. (I think I have decided on Lore Bard btw)
Lore Bard doesn't seem to be able to take much of a beating at all. At D8 and Light Armour, he is as squishy as a Rogue. I can see myself only...
Heh, on the above points, I too don't like the alignment axis. When I make my own characters I instead try to give them a Myers-Brigs personality type, a motivation, any past events, etc.
My big bad might be an INTJ (Roughly a "Lawful" Type) with some very selfish aspirations (arguably "Evil")...
So after reading through the PHB a few times, I still can't decide which kind of Bard to make. Have any of you had experience playing either one? What external factors (if any) should one take into consideration. I.e. party maje up, campaign setting, etc.
Personally, RP wise a College of Lore...
it seems to me like the issue may not be Evil PCs themselves but perhaps Chaotic Evil PCs. All you need is one Chaotic player that's bored that night to use his "I'm Chaotic Evil, I betray the party for the lolz"
Of course, I'm simplifying and building a strawman so you can see my point of...
I guess those children that can do magic very well at a young age would have a sorcerer level. That means Harry would have at least 1 level in sorcerer, 1 level in warlock (his connection to the dark lord) and the rest of his levels would be wizard.
Voldermort and Dumbledore might have a lot of...
Heh, now I want to play a dual weilding bard; longsword in one hand, magic flute/dagger in the other.
Or better yet, metallic Banjo that doubles as a Maul :D
I see, so mainly "support" spells. This is good because I'll be playing a bard that has a sword and shield so I can't play my flute when in the middle of an engagement (I wouldn't allow myself to play a flute one handed and I consider my shield to be "weilded"; I don't try to beat the system...
Thing is, I can see casters being stupid strong to be a good thing from a simulationist point. I.E they are rare in the world and therefore it is the reason the world is still somewhat recognizable (kinda like the wizards in Lord of the Rings) The thing is, that just because that works in a...
