fire/cold subtype at the same time!?

With regaurd to the peircing energy feats, he would technically take normal damage: both deal half damage to targets normally immune and double (instead of +50%) damage to targets of the opposite type, which cancel out. Having both subtypes is a good investment.

    Sentient Weapons

Too bad that doesn't work in 3.5; it went from being one of the most powerful to the least powerful of weapons.

D&D 3E/3.5 Any good Homebrew Monk Variants? [3.5e]

You've taken my analogy literally. Yes, magic weapons are awesome, but a monk should gain more benefits striking without them, either from enhanced damage or speed, because their own bodies are more conditioned. I see what you are saying, but there is no reason why a monk and a fighter could...

D&D 3E/3.5 Any good Homebrew Monk Variants? [3.5e]

(@ post 11) I used to think like that, but now I disagree. In the real world, weapons are always superior, but in a fantastical world this isn't always true. Imagine if all the weapons you had available were paper fans and rolls of newspaper, or were so heavy as to slow you down. If equipment...

Can you take 20 in 4th edition?

What disturbs me is that lockpicking isn't even a trained only skill. Nothing's stopping the Fighter from taking 20 to pick a lock

    Explain INT and Reflex, Please

Problem with most of these solutions is that most of these interpretations of intelligence are more covered by wisdom (WOD has been mentioned, and wits pretty much is the D&D wisdom). Wisdom covers perception and reading people's intentions as well as the more primitive instincts that just tell...

    Cursed Items

That's always how i interpreted cursed items in my games. The player knew the item was cursed, but either the character didn't, or they were somehow so addicted to it that they couldn't bare to be seperated from it. Heck, even the older editions mentioned people losing cursed weapons being...

    D&D 4E XP for NPCs in 4e?

I think they don't From what i've read, the difference is that NPC's get only 1 of each type of power, no AP's, no second wind, and only one magic item. They also seem to use the monster system for gaining hp. Naturally, an NPC that is built like a pc should be much more powerful, but i think...

    Mounted Enemies

According to the DMG, mounts use their rider's actions to move, attack, and use abilities. From a PC standpoint, this makes sense (at least good balance) but what about NPC opponents? If the encounter is with a soldier and a horse, do they both attack? And if the rider is using his actions to...

How do you go about making PC like enemies now?

The problem i found with this was the xp value. According to the rules an NPC seems to just be a standard level monster, meaning that 'a fair challenge' is fighting 1 on 1 with near-identical enemies. Admittedly the PC's get second wind and action points, but the NPC's don't have to worry about...

    Knocking Godzilla Prone

Well, if you want to be technical, the condition is prone, not supline, so they should be knocked face-to-the-ground. Might use that as a slippery slope argument for justifying the 'prone-like-conditions' NB- actually agreeing with quoted post

    Low level teleportation

I never really saw what was so awsome about the Eldarin's teleport myself. He can jump 5 squares instead of moving 6, and, if he does manage to get somewhere where nobody else can, he's stuck there by himself until someone can come and get him. Sure, being able to go somewhere otherwise...
