So, I have a new, inexperienced player joining my 4e campaign. He says that he wants some kind of alchemical demolitions/blaster type of character. It sounds like he's looking for something that resembles the PF Alchemist class, but that concept is one of the few that doesn't really exist...

I'm DMing a campaign that's at level 18 and has been going for almost 2 years. 5 players, including 2 originals and one that joined at level 3. Our current group has been together for around a year. We're all still loving it and dreading the day the character builder disappears.

But you could potentially do a "Wrath of the Brijidine for 5e" with the OGL and put it on DriveThruRPG or something? Or even just use a certain character or location, as long as its all OGC and released under the OGL? And the same goes for any OGC that's ever been produced?

So... is this also the same as the Pathfinder OGL, then? Meaning that we can use elements not only from the 3e and 5e SRDs, but also from the PF SRD? For that matter, can we now draw on ANYTHING that has ever been published with the OGL and use it for 5e? As long as it's actually OGC and the...

I should be good for anything except Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Thursdays might be workable, but it would probably be very inconvenient.

Some of the later ones (especially in Dungeon) are pretty good. But, yeah, this was my first thought, too.

Why would 4e adventures be harder to convert? Monster variation doesn't seem like a very big hurdle. Is there something else I'm missing?

Why don't you just threaten to kick his ass if he doesn't let you win? It seems to be the simplest and most direct tactic that fits with your antagonistic attitude. However, I don't think that's what the designers intended.

Hmm.. No, I don't think I get the point. In fact, I don't have any idea what you're talking about or how it relates to my comment. But that's ok. It's cool.

I may be misunderstanding, but are you sure that's how 4e works? That's not how monsters are put together in 4e, I know that much. They have all their own rules (like you say for 5e).
