Most of what I've seen so far is not looking cool to me, I'm not enjoying the style. I've seen very few pieces from any of the new wotc books that I've found inspiring, so for me it's pretty bad. There is a definite art direction obviously happening and it does not appeal to me.

Sounds like you have a lot of art hate in you, sorry to hear that. Good thing the new wotc art direction was made for you in mind. Your criticism of some of the artists I listed is very telling.

What are you even trying to say? I listed a bunch of artists, many of which are still making art that I've found to be inspirational through the years. The many, many more part covers all the other art I continue to see all the time and enjoy. And besides art is timeless, why does it matter when...

I never insulted anyone for liking the 5e MM art, nor did I directly insult the creators personally. I said how I personally felt about the art and how it made me feel when I looked at it. That's as far as it went. I only used Elmore, but I also enjoy fantasy art from Frazetta, Otus, Whelan...

We were a 2014 5e test group, and I still like 2014'ish 5e. We have bailed on 5e of the last few years and especially won't be playing 2024 version. But doesn't mean 5e 2014'ish won't come around our table here and there, it's a good game.

Yeah yeah... all the "old" d&d art is bad, because you know it's "old", and the new art is good because, you know it's "new" and has the wotc social seal of blessed approval, so you can feel good, right?

They are ONLY my truth, and as far as art goes, that is the truth I care about most.

D&D 1, no effect I play the D&D we want and we love it. 2024 5e "d&d", a 5, I want absolutely nothing to do with it because wotc has made a "game" that does not appeal to me, nor is marketed towards me, don't like it, don't play it, ok.

I insulted the art, not the people, I don't know them personally. I said it looked bad, like some of the really cheesy ai art from midjourney. Although once and a while I will see a derivative AI art piece that actually looks pretty cool, in a way, some scifi scenes and such.

Never said the people who made it are bad people, just don't like their art at all. And Elmore was used as one of many who I can become inspired by looking at their art pieces. I much prefer this style but agree Cowatuars is a bit of the vibe I'm getting. I'd prefer my Minotaurs a bit more ferocious looking.
