We've 100% moved on to Castles&Crusades (actually looks/feels/plays like the D&D we want), ShadowDark, DCC, Twilight 2000, One Ring (even 5e version), you know pretty much anything but wotc "d&d". C&C suites our needs and style a zillion times better, and we are having fun instead of eye rolling...

So glad we bailed on wotc neo-"d&d" at this point, my goodness what a disaster. There are so many legit better games and publishers out there, which I am very grateful that will continue the hobby for years/generations to come long after hasbro/wotc crash out totally.

We used bits and pieces of both in 2 separate games... We found them pretty much unusable and bad on their own. They were one of the reasons we have permanently quit wotc 2024 5e all together.

Waterdeep: Dragon Heist and Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus were really, really bad. lol!

Most of what I've seen so far is not looking cool to me, I'm not enjoying the style. I've seen very few pieces from any of the new wotc books that I've found inspiring, so for me it's pretty bad. There is a definite art direction obviously happening and it does not appeal to me.

Really hung up on the fact I listed artists that have done amazing work and inspired so many. I literally said I am open to any and all art that I enjoy, there is no timestamp on it. I never said anything about rejecting any art based on when it was made. Sounds like that is more your kinda...

Sounds like you have a lot of art hate in you, sorry to hear that. Good thing the new wotc art direction was made for you in mind. Your criticism of some of the artists I listed is very telling.

What are you even trying to say? I listed a bunch of artists, many of which are still making art that I've found to be inspirational through the years. The many, many more part covers all the other art I continue to see all the time and enjoy. And besides art is timeless, why does it matter when...
