Maybe ship-to-ship combat, should be done in a more abstract way, like 13th age combat? Some basic distances and special maneuvers to change it.

Mutants & Masterminds. It's crazy. A masterpiece of roleplaying system. For the setting, both Shadowrun and Eberron really impressed me. It's a shame Shadowrun rules are pretty much subpar.

Remember to make the war for the material component(i.e. diamond dust) the center of all geopolitical conflict. The one who controls the diamond, controls the world. or The diamond dust must flow.

I agree with one of the first posters, in 4th Ed, is easier to just add the incremental bonus to everyone than take then away. If the other PCs are level 10, the newbie starts with level 10 HPs, add +5 to attacks, defenses, etc... You can give the level equivalent magic items or not. I'd rather...

Stargate Sg-1 RPG was great. I bought mine used last year and I'm hunting for the others. Maybe d20 isn't the best option for you, so I recommend GURPS or Savage Worlds. Both can be adapted easily with the fluff in th AEG book.

I'm with Cadfan. If the player can describe in game term why the dragon should stay, it stays. If not, the dragon is free to fly. I like to think the rules are the starting point, not the end point for adjudicating situations.

I like the HS cost. Make magic feels personal and exhausting in the long run. When you could just make a high check or spend more money, takes the whole "sapping my life away" thing.

WotC, please, hear the feedback. Hadouken was the most homebrew thing stuffed into monks. Throw him a bone a let him fireball from day one. If they are smart, they cram as mush Street Fighter moves in the powers as they can. Hurricane Kick make a neat Daily power(as in hit, push, shift, hit...

Don't have a evil-but-comic character, like Black Mage(or Richards). Humor is good, but do it right, or don't do it. Bad humor is worse than none. Update as often as you can, if it's good, you must deliver the fix for your junkies. And find your own voice.

Anything your story needs. Nothing is off limits if your story needs.
