    Horizon Walker

Even more: Having grown up in the desert makes perfect sense to get the HW's ability. Having watched his parents being killed by a giant is absolutely no reason for inflicting more damage to giants.

Hierophant - worth losing spell progression?

When thinking about the Hierophant's abilities, do not forget the spell-like ability. When your Cleric has one spell which he casts very often, you can make him cast this spell safely even when paralized, grappled (given a fair concentration), silenced, deafened, etc., and since you can use this...

    Casting Cleric

In addition, if the heirophant's dex mod is bad, he can take the Zen Archery feat from CW to hit even the dextrous foes on any roll but a 1.

So the sun shrinks to half its size...

That is true if the spell works like e.g. Reduce Person, which assumes the density to stay constant when changing size. There is no nessessity for the density to stay constant in the new epic spell. It could very well work in the way that the sun is made smaller and more dense, keeping its mass...

Question on true strike and cleave ...

The True Strike - Power Attack - Great Cleave Combo is interesting, but not overpowered IMHO. When it comes to multiple attacks (at lvl 6+), a Fighter-only will do 4 regular attacks in two rounds (given there are enough foes), while the Fighter-Mage only get a single regular attack in two...

    Question. What is Damage Reduction?

We had the same problem last session. The PHB and DMG are not completetly clear on this. Basically they say that if an attack is accompanied by an effect which required a wound to be there (e.g. poison, crippling strike) the attack needs to do damage (i.e. dmg>DR) for the effect to come. Sneak...

    'wait, wait, attack' fighting style?

The Duelist comes quite close to this build. A Ftr 4, Rog 3, Due 7 with Dex 20, Int 16 and Combat Expertise using total defence has an AC of 34+magic items. And his Reflex save (with lightning reflexes) is 16+magic items. Once he starts fighting, his damage output is not bad, either. If this...

    52 Attacks

With PHB-rules only (just requires special cards): If your cards have 30ft. reach, and you use them to strike, you can hit at least 52 orcs standing around you with a single whirlwind attack. Dropping a card after a melee attack is a free action. And of course you'd need quick draw to draw the...

    can bards use wands?

But for wands, IIRC, there is no distinction between arcane and divine. So a bard can use a cleric's wand of Cure Light Wounds.

    Orisons and Cantrips

Some 0th level spells could become too good, if a caster could cast too many of them. E.g. cure minor wounds, disrupt undead, and some others appearing in class books, etc.

    Blindness & True Seeing

So in principle all agree that the person should be blind. In particular, true seeing does not help against blindness. I would say so, too. But one could very well interpret the spell descriptions differently. Does anyone know a reference in the rules or the FAQs? PS: A similar problem occurs...

    Blindness & True Seeing

One quick question: If Blindness and True Seeing are both cast on one person, can the person see or not?

    Impressed by rods

BTW. Is it true that all metamagic rods weigh 5 pd.? A standard Sor/Wiz will have a hard time carrying around rods and still stay light encumbered. This can be thought of a balancing issue, given the encumberance rules are applied correctly.
