My Setup

You must have seen a different LFR then. Every module will have at least 2 fights, that's a given, but there is always a story involved (some better than others).

I would recommend checking out the Living Forgotten Realms RPGA modules. They are short, 4-hour adventures. There are some problem modules in there, but over the last year the quality has gotten pretty good.

I found a solution to this just this week, since I am having the same problem reaching the battle mat w/ the dm screen in the way (even the 4e one is a little too high to reach over comfortably). I use two DM screens, one DM to my left for rolling, hit point tracking, and misc. secret stuff...

This app seems fine, if a little basic. I'd like to see conditions and monster hp being supported to be more useful to a dm. That would go a long way in helping its usefulness. Also, its a little fiddly as far as looking and feeling like an iphone app/webservice. Having to rezoom the interface...

I think that would be a heck of a lot of fun and could likely result in decent party composition too. I'm not sure which I'd like more, joining the band or running a game for them!
