D&D 5E (2024) Skeleton Familiar plus Net = Fisher of Men

FWIW - Grim Hollow has a Gladiator Net that is an actual weapon and does some damage. Also there is a Flame Tongue version of it...

D&D 5E (2024) How do you handle surprised but won initiative?

A flying invisible Sprite positions themselves behind a target and fires an arrow at them from their tiny bow at reasonably close range (close enough that they will be unlikely to miss and far enough away that their little flapping wings will not be heard). As far as I know they do not need to...

Weapon of Warning gives whole party (in 30') advantage. It's OP...

D&D’s 2026 Announcements: Roadmap Contains A Mix of New and Familiar

I know we have not seen the final Reanimator Artificer but do folks think that the Artificer can cast True Strike through Arcane Conduit via the Reanimated Companion to allow the companion to use a weapon? Edit: shoot this does not work because of casting time - Side note: Loading the Spell...

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Arcana Unleashed, New Magic-Themed Sourcebook at $49.99 Price Point

Given the shift away from tattoos as carrying magic and towards tattoos emerging as a result of a magical capability, do you all think this means the age of the Spellwrought Tattoo is over? I am actually more interested in tattoos like the Coiling Grasp Tattoo but wondering if tattoos are likely...

    Minis for TTRPGs

Thanks everyone. I have a few 3D printers so may consider options for using them as well. I like to find ways to print connectors but then use cheap or free material to make structure, walls/sides, etc... (reduces print time and cost). I'll post more if I figure out something useful (or at...

    Minis for TTRPGs

Any advice for storing a ton of minis (decent / budget options)? Thankfully none of the foam above degraded too badly (I have seen foam that dissolved and stuck to model trains before) but I need to figure out a better way to store all of those minis.

D&D General Warlocks and Magic Item Crafting - Flavor / Mechanics Ideas?

I was searching around and could not find anything talking about Warlocks crafting. Does anyone run a crafting-focused Warlock or have ideas for interesting flavor for magic item crafting with Warlock subclasses? This is somewhat inspired by someone pointing out that the Sphinx of Wonder...

D&D 5E (2024) How do you handle surprised but won initiative?

I certainly don't claim to be an expert by any means so there may be all kinds of implications that I am not appreciating. Just trying to add to the conversation... I was thinking that the folks who were surprised and lost initiative are acting after the surprise action/attack so could act...

D&D 5E (2024) How do you handle surprised but won initiative?

Interesting - agree, many parts of the spells effect seems very appropriate. Modifying slightly... Surprised but Wins Initiative If a creature is surprised and rolls a higher initiative than a creature that surprised it, the following effects apply to the surprised creature until the end of its...

D&D 5E (2024) How do you handle surprised but won initiative?

Reading all this made me think that there may be options for the surprised people who win initiative that simply limits their actions. I know it would not be RAW but letting someone run 20' and attack while a leopard is mid-air coming out of the tree does not seem realistic. However, snapping...

D&D 5E (2024) How do you handle surprised but won initiative?

For me a big part of this issue is the convolution of invisible with hidden - I know RAW they are considered the same but it's much easier for me to imagine someone noticing a slime on the ceiling as it drops, or a leopard in a tree as it jumps, or a bandit hidden in the grass as they pull back...

    Minis for TTRPGs

These are my miniatures from the 1980s - Finally dug them out since kids are learning to play! I do not know which manufacturers/sets they are from but I am sure there are a few different types (at least some from Citadel and also at least 1 set of Ral Partha - which I remember were better...

D&D 5E (2024) Move over Owl and Bat, the best 2024 familiar is a Deer!

One thing to note - Polearm Master reactive strike is not an opportunity attack so if he ever comes up against an NPC/Monster who is really good with a Polearm he may be surprised that they can attack him when he first comes within 10' of them.
