WotC: Stop asking perfectly logical questions!
Wait wait wait. Am I reading the premise right? 12th-level PCs, you know, the ones that can survive a dragon's breath to the face, bring people back from the dead, and vaporize entire armies, working as caravan guards for some random schmuck?
I think every DM, experienced or not, has gone through this situation.
