    Current fees and costs

Yeah they are not editing the whole book, they are only editing as much as I can afford for them to edit :-) Maybe they will be fantastic and point to many things I missed and I end up spending thousands to fix all my mistakes. Either way it is all hypothetical until I get to that stage in the...

    Current fees and costs

Strange thing to say since you don't know the rate. The editor I reached out to is $160 per thousand words for line editing. I think I would only send them the core rules, I haven't counted the words. I think a WOTC editor would do a massive amount of work, but in my case most of what they...

    Current fees and costs

I'm just guessing on that future cost, since it will be towards the end of the process. Could be a lot more, but will depend on which sections of the book I hand over. Doesn't make sense to have them do the Bestiary. Hopefully under $600. Line editing and copy editing are not words I'm...

    Current fees and costs

The writing I paid for, is the the writing that I didn't do, which is specific prose I subcontracted. What I wrote, is worth at least $100,000 :) The book has a lot of art, including some very high end pieces inside the Bestiary, so yeah the art adds up.

    Current fees and costs

I can only speak to what I have spent to give you an idea; mine is a rulebook aiming for 200 pages. 1. Proofreading will be last. I will spend $100 to double-check before the final print. 2. I will hire an editor, it will be $300 or so, to do editing. BUT and a big BUT, there was no way I would...

Store owner complains about Kickstarter and Twitter and D&D

Really, I had no idea it worked that way, for some reason I assumed most stores only work with specific (big) publishers.

Store owner complains about Kickstarter and Twitter and D&D

So if I finish a product, can I bring it to all the game stores and they will pop it on their shelves? Or do I need to sell 100,000 copies first ?

D&D Celebrity Satine Phoenix & Husband Jamison Stone Accused Of Abuse Towards Freelancers

Probably reading a little too much into their demographics. Serial killers come in all shapes and sizes from all walks of life. The most common thing is some sort of childhood trauma, along with a particular gene that brings the worst out in people.

    Character Sheets

I just personally refuse to give Adobe money, their products are extremely expensive due to having a monopoly. Forcing users into subscription models when all you need is a few basic functions that any programmer can write with a little open source code, just annoys me. Nitro is a little...

    Character Sheets

Acrobat pro is not worth the money, you could buy Nitro though it is pretty expensive. Its not that different from excel, give boxes on the page names and use them in simple javascript formulas. Or just pay this guy: https://www.fiverr.com/golkaran/create-a-custom-character-sheet-for-any-rpg

? I mean he is literally sticking his nose in the air saying only "long term dnd players would understand". Well I'm a long term dnd player and I don't understand the fascination for plastic minis. No offense intended.

That reads as an incendiary statement.

I assumed this was a publicity stunt.
