Clerical Thunder

I roll as a cleric, as the name would imply, not only because it is entertaining for me, but also because it links in with my profession, at least, the healing does. Anyhow, Ive been play dungeons and dragons for along while, and am quite experienced. however, I still do not understand skill assignment in 3.0-3.5.
