Huh, I suppose shifting it from the DMG to the MM gives me some hope that the table will be decently representative of the monsters. Shame, though, I was hoping to be able to get a chunk of my stuff updated by February.
I have a powerful need to know in what ways the "Creating a Creature" CR table (p. 56 I think?) has changed. Not specifics necessarily, but what general trends do you see in changes to hit points and damage at each tier of play?
The nupperibo is kind of the "beefy lemure" in my view. I honestly am stumped on actual lemures, since their lore can be pretty tidily summed up with "totally useless", unless they've got a cool magazine article about them I haven't read.

Yeah, I think even WotC have realized that some of their overarching design goals for the MM are misguided. You can see them trying to take things in both a more practical and more interesting direction in their last couple of offerings, though they're still limited by choices they made early in...
Yeah, now that you mention it all of this is really easy to track if you use minis and a grid, and a nightmare if you don't. I guess I was really just designing to my own experience of the game with this.
The hop attack would've taken these over the half-page limit I set for them, but here are also some slaadi with a hop attack you could slap on em, and some grung with a hop-escape:
