WotC Baldur's Gate III Announced; Powered by D&D 5E

So could anybody explain to me how is this "Baldur's Gate 3"? There's like literally nothing in the trailer or the dev vlog that evokes "this is a Baldur's Gate game" feeling. I'm fairly shocked, to be honest, to have this kind of reaction to something like a new Baldur's Gate game, but this...

Updates on Age of Sigmar RPG Include New Name

Can't wait. Hope the mechanics are good. This is exactly the right kind of WH for me. The aesthetics and feeling are so over-the-top high-uber-epic-fantasy awesome yet Warhammery I can't handle it. I hope they won't try to appease those who want this to be more conservative. This is...

    Shadowrun Sixth Edition Announced!

So again no old-school difference between Mages and Shamans? That was my favorite part of magical traditions back in 2nd edition.

[PF2] Cleric class preview + spells per level

I thought it was clear we are talking about 5e Concentration. Which is something noticeably different.

[PF2] Cleric class preview + spells per level

Really? Things like Concentration feel straight anti-DnD to me, rather than "DnD in all it's glory". Exactly. Tbh, if I like PF2 enough to play it, I will house rule that every palaeo-vancian caster is actually neo-vancian caster. :) I remember during our 2e days, all the people had to wait...

The D&D Movie Finds Its Director

That's debatable... :D How many people around the globe actually know what FR is?

The D&D Movie Finds Its Director

I think property like this needs people who know it through and through. Like Duncan Jones being a player of WarCraft for a long time, he knows the tone, the story, all those details of that world and story is written by Chris Metzen himself... Or with the GotG example, James Gunn read all...

D&D comes to Middle Earth (from Cubicle 7)

Feels weird and more like an economic strategy than anything else (I can understand that, they are a company after all), but yeah, TOR feels so Tolkienesque, 5e does not.

CONAN! The 4th Most Anticipated RPG Of 2016 Funds In Two Hours! Preview Here!

Agreed, dangerous, mysterious magic is something that really needs to be reflected in the rules. And since the majority of the rules from Quickstart are refluffed rules from Mutant Chronicles, I think they can use the Doom a.k.a. Dark Symetry points or Repercussion or Dread mechanics to make...

CONAN! The 4th Most Anticipated RPG Of 2016 Funds In Two Hours! Preview Here!

Yea, I've noticed there is no SW conversion stretch goal. :) But to me, it's ok. I cannot wait for the 2d20 version. And I'm really curious how much things you will add to the SW system to keep the feeling of MCh3e rules. Maybe, in the end, I'll find out it's worth to learn all the crunch from...

CONAN! The 4th Most Anticipated RPG Of 2016 Funds In Two Hours! Preview Here!

IMO: the basic 2d20 mechanic is really good, one of the best I know, even the implementation of skills into the roll, etc., but the system as a whole, like the Mutant Chronicles 3rd Edtion, is way too crunchy. So I'm waiting for the official Savage Worlds conversion hoping the level of crunch...

D&D 5E The "more complex" fighter: What are you looking for?

Which is really interesting since they've tried to do the exact opposite. But the final result is all over the place. For example Bard as a full-caster... What? It feels weird Bard has as many spells as Mage and can cast 7-9th level spells. Details like this add to the "too much magic" feeling...
