Found it!
Hey, if you can't find anything that fits, you can always make it yourself, right? :)
Scoured the PDFs in my download folder to find what I was talking about earlier (D&D class creation guide). I can't remember where I got it though. Hope this helps. :)
Is this "OD&D" as in "Rules Cyclopedia/Basic/Expert/Companion/Master/Immortals"? If so, there's a doc floating around the 'net with instructions on how to make your own classes... probably here: http://www.pandius.com/
You sound like I did, some months ago. I wanted something lite and yet comes with enough crunch. I tried Savage Worlds, and never looked back. The Test Drive and one or two ready-to-run adventures can easily be DL'ed online.
I don't know about you, but even a lawful army doesn't have to be as ultra-rigid as some present-day military (or some people's conception thereof). I find nothing wrong with just saying "G'night".
Nice. Mechanics are a bit confusing at first but with enough games, they become second nature (played against myself a handful of times). I could easily see this being played in-game at an tavern in your favorite fantasy game.
