    [3.x] 3rd Party Hidden gems?

Thank you all! As for Pathfinder, I already have it (wouldn't want to miss on such pure awesome!); I simply wanted to check and compare other systems. Thanks again for all the answers! I will check those links and other books!

    [3.x] 3rd Party Hidden gems?

Sorry for slightly derailing the thread but ... "Hot pursuit: on foot" sounds exactly like what I'm looking for for an adventure I plan to play soon. Is there any way to get a PDF version of this book (how long is it, by the way)? I checked on various online RPG shops and couldn't find it anywhere.

    Nick Herold's Pathfinder Bestiary Project!

Fair enough. I wasn't just going to simply redistribute them but to translate them from English to French in order to make them usable by roleplayers that don't speak English, but I'll respect your decision. If you ever change your mind, feel free to drop me a mail!

    Nick Herold's Pathfinder Bestiary Project!

Hi, and thank you for sharing your work! I noticed that the Thunder Drake above is missing the Fort/Ref/Will save line. (I also sent you a mail via this forum to ask if you would allow me to translate those monsters to French [you would be credited for them naturally] - I'm not sure whether or...

Pathfinder 1E What is Pathfinder doing about multi-classing?

That +1/+1d6 idea sounds both interesting and simple enough to apply, Gailbraithe. Perhaps you should post it on the Paizo boards as well for Jason Bulmahn to consider?

Pathfinder 1E No support for Pathfinder on start page?

I do not want to assign hidden motives to people or anything of the kind, but I must admit that I am kind of surprised too that, for example, news about how at-will/encounter/daily powers are colour-coded immediately makes the headlines while the release of Pathfinder Alpha 2 is not even...

    Pathfinder 1E Paizo Annoucement!

I believe you might have misread. The PDF version of Pathfinder Beta will be downloadable for free. Only the book version will cost you something.

GSL questions for Scott Rouse and Mike Lescault

Melodrama on the one hand ... Sarcasm/snide/condescending remarks on the other hand ... Is the first one really more condemnable than the second? If the melodrama annoys you, I think it's easy enough to just ignore it. I actually find it easier to ignore a melodramatic answer than a sarcastic...

Can someone explain Hunter's Quarry and Warlock's Curse to me?

Those interpretations would suggest that the characters, thanks to their incredible skill or their terrible hate, would simply have a permanent +1d8 damage bonus to all damage. Why bother with having them select one character to focus on? Well, in this case, I'm considering rules like "+1d8 to...

Can someone explain Hunter's Quarry and Warlock's Curse to me?

Shouldn't the fluff be convincingly defined in the books? I mean ... shouldn't the book tell us "You get to do an additional 1d8 damage each time you damage your target because <insert convincing explanation in terms of the character's actions here>"? A purely rule-based description that...

    DDXP: When Anti's become Pro's

The new information half-changed my opinion about 4E. I used to be rather anti-4E because I hated what I saw as unfounded fluff changes and was not fond at all of the rules, that I considered (and actually still consider) to be too abstract/gamist/detached from what happens in the story. Now, I...

    Ampersand: Sneak Attack

That would be my favourite solution too. Describe the power in such a way that the rule restrictions are obvious/feel natural/do not need to be memorized. And, if you cannot do it, then change the rule. That's actually another version of the rule/fluff problem: which one should come first and...

    Ampersand: Sneak Attack

I agree that there is a problem there ... actually, I see 2 problems. The first problem is whether or not it "makes sense" to have a once-per-encounter or once-per-day restriction on those powers. I, for one, do not like having such a restriction in the rule when the restriction does not exist...

D&D 4E 4e Heal info in new Confessions article

That is one way to see it, I suppose ... but I think it's a bit deeper than just perception. I can grasp abstract concepts like hit points representing more than just physical integrity, but other problems come with it. The main of those problems is the fact that the interpretation of a...

D&D 4E 4e Heal info in new Confessions article

And Second Wind is "I decide that I am suddenly no longer vulnerable" and technically I get back 30% of my hit points (or another amount)? I still cannot grasp/understand/imagine it, I'm afraid. Yes, that I can see. I can imagine someone who gets some kind of advantages once they are close to...
