As near as I can tell, as a player, the rule was you run your character. I think most characters I played with were 2014 or 2024 rules...

Were they running them on a single rules chassis or were they allowing each class under its native ruleset?

The only flaw might be meta rules, like Inspiration vs Heroic Inspiration vs Luck.
