I tend to "cheat" quite often while GMing, but only in ways that can be explained in-game. However, I won't give those explanations to the players, instead hoping that the mystery of it propels the PCs to finding out the in-game cause.
Time lapse in tabletop is also a problem. If one group gets too far ahead of the other, by skipping over travel time and such, their actions always have the possibility of retcon by the other group intervening.
I dunno if I like the "You hear something so you wake up" bit. After all, I can sleep through some pretty heavy background noises but still get up at my alarm clock.
Under your view, people would just never be able to sleep.
I'm speaking about The Operative from the movie Serenity, just to clarify. The reason I ask is because I'm looking to set up a good MBEG for the party so they can feel like they're starting to work their way through the BBEG's resources.
In terms of personality and style, it's almost going to...
It does have a lot of sundering and disarming though. And plenty of grappling in the sense of dogpiling someone into submission, if not outright "test of strength" wrestling matches.
And, let's be fair, WWE has a decently big following so it does fit into the entertainment aspect.
One of the reasons I prefer D&D over WoD (new or old) is that the basic premise of the game (faux magical fantasy) allows for much greater stretches of the ordinary without breaking suspension of disbelief.
Want to shoot a rider off a griffin 200 feet in the air? No problem!

Due to two players of mine having to excuse themselves for the summer due to job opportunities, I've decided to hiatus my current longrunning WoW campaign and run something else for the remaining four players.
The general gist of what they'd like to see is a more exploration style campaign...
We've had to deal with theft and such in the past. All the books are stamped with the club logo and marked with a call number in several places of the book. As well, they are kept in a locked cabinet that only the executive council of the club know the combo to.
And we did have a sheet posted...
The reason I asked more for d20 books is that we've already got huge lists of Vampire, Mage, Werewolf and other White Wolf games.
Outside of that, we have Shadowrun and Paranoia and d20 Modern and Spycraft and Hackmaster. But those don't get played enough to justify expanding the library with...
There's not really much narrowing down that can be done. The books aren't for me personally, but for the gaming club. So I need to find good books that the most people can get use out of.
I'm buying a whole slew of gaming books to upgrade the library of the gaming club at my college.
We already have:
Core books (PHB, MM, DMG)
MM II
MM III
Complete Arcane/Divine/Warrior/Adventurer
Spell Compendium
PHB II
Tome of Magic
What I'm looking for are suggestions for what to pick up. I'd...
I'm currently running a Dru5/MoMF 10 in a campaign where I just recently finished out the PrC. The problem is that I don't know what to class into now.
I was thinking of taking 5 levels of War Shaper, but I don't particularly like it. Reaping Mauler would be nice if the grapple bonuses worked...
