Even the Sword Coast is pretty wild, with lots of untamed areas. Between Baldur's Gate and Waterdeep, which are hundreds of miles apart...

Depends on the area. Cormyr will give off the Renaissance vibe, but just go to some nearby areas like Anauroch or even the Dalelands...

But DMs don't exist in-universe. In-universe, a Wish that goes beyond the rules in the PHB can still be cast, just with consequences...
