    Silly Character Names

My first real RPG character was a dwarf in Warhammer FRP called Arman Hammer. The only other name I can think of was a halfling in a game I played in called Chase Hairybush.

[hosted] Art from Ravenloft Gazeteer V: monsters and scenes.

I like them overall but they do look a bit too much air-brushed for my tastes. Very neat though, and far beyond my talents :)

Important thread regarding PDFs on RPG.NET

I don't care as much about the DRM. I do buy songs from the iTunes Music Store. The real kicker for me is having to use Acrobat Reader. I much prefer preview now that it doesn't suck in Panther.

That's easy! By making sure no one uses your products they become harder to steal :p

Has ayone tried this on Mac OS X? The reason I ask is that Mac OS X has a "print to PDF" function. I am wondering if it would work on these PDFs.

Does evil mean Evil? Is a paladin free to act against evil?

I realize this is probably "house rules" but in my world things are a little different. Clerics can be one step removed from the deity's alignment. So a NE deity can have N, LE, NE, or CE clerics. A neutral cleric of that deity would not detect as evil. This of course is not appropriate for...

Does evil mean Evil? Is a paladin free to act against evil?

People exist on a bell-curve. I don't need the rules to tell me that. It's just the way it is. If you consider that only a very narrow band in the middle of that curve could actually be called "neutral" then it could be true that 1/3 of the people exist at each alignment. However, 50+% of...

Does evil mean Evil? Is a paladin free to act against evil?

It's as simple as this: If the person's not actually evil they won't detect as evil. Is that plain enough for you? People who are not actively engaged in evil activities (not necessarily at that moment - but in the long term) will not detect as evil. So if a Paladin runs across a cleric of a...

Does evil mean Evil? Is a paladin free to act against evil?

It almost sounds like you're saying that we're wrong for running paladins a particular way.

Does evil mean Evil? Is a paladin free to act against evil?

I don't buy the idea that because there are 3 alignments (good, neutral, evil) that 33% of the people detect as each one. Most people are clustered around neutral with very few the closer you get to the extremes (ie. the ones who show up as "good" or "evil"). A farmer who occasionally steals a...

Does evil mean Evil? Is a paladin free to act against evil?

Faint evil auras deserve a chance at redemption. But if you're a 2nd+ level cleric of an evil god you have devoted your life to the advancement of evil. In that case you simply have to die. And the paladin is there to facilitate it.

Does evil mean Evil? Is a paladin free to act against evil?

Thank you for bringing up the terrible memories I have of DMing Jesus and Muhammed, the Holy Warriors. Muhammed was actually ok. But Jesus kept running around shouting "I love you" right before he lopped people's heads off with his greatsword. His alignment was Lawful Stupid IIRC.
