I'd have to go with "piercing" too. Though not exactly arrow sharp, it is a pointed weapon. Much like mauls and such, they are not razor sharp, but do focus their energies to a narrower point.
I love these and fully intend to younk them for "Homeland", my sort of rustic D&D campaign. Critters such as these fit well with the folksy feel of the campaign.

This thread is awesome. I have always had a soft spot for Lost World settings. My seven year old daughter is learning D&D right now and the setting I've been running for her is a Lost World setting - we both love jungles, prehistoric monsters and lost civilizations.

Chromatic Skin: Creature has the ability to change the color of his skin in complicated and stunnign patterns. Can...
An excellent monster that is sure to find its way into my campaign world. The expanded ecology makes them much more usable at various CR and in various encounters.
I'll be posting as they come to me. As part of the "back to basics" nature of the setting, many of the creatures are simply mods of exsisting ones or good ol' stand-bys.
Yes, I had read the wendigo and decided that such things will haunt the remote places of my world. Heck, this thread is producing so many options that I may just go for all of 'em. Perhaps in the collective local mythology of the game world, they have sort of been lumped together as one or a...
