    D&D General Crafting magic items

Let's talk "Crafting Magic Items" in D&D! Current crafting rules feel more transactional. What supplements are out there that make for an interesting crafting system? Any homebrew rules? Whatcha got?

4E - creating an "angry peasant mob"

Now, those are some damn fine ideas...I especially like the split ability. My local RPG shop had a bunch of Foundry miniatures on sale ($5.00 for a box of peasants that would normally cost over $20)...so I bought 3 of them. Ha! Funny you mention that...I already purchased the townsfolk...

4E - creating an "angry peasant mob"

Awesome. I'll take a look. If anyone has any more mob or swarm examples, I'd like to see them. I'll probably thief some ideas off of them.

4E - creating an "angry peasant mob"

I suppose that I could do that. There are 24 in the mob though (and that doesn't count the 4 local militia and one old grizzled veteran). If each of them got an attack, it certainly would drag combat out (and probably kill them, since the group is 2nd level). I wanted this to be fast and...

4E - creating an "angry peasant mob"

I'm starting a new 4E campaign, and I'd like to start it off with some action. The PCs are all from a neighboring kingdom (at war), and have been betrayed in their mission (all of which they'll have to uncover later). They discover that one of their own has also been captured by a local...

    8th Level Pregens

Just wanted to say thanks for this. I'm running late, have a game to run tonight, and needed 8th level pregens...

Goodman Games Dungeon Crawl Classics - So which ones are the best?

*sniffle* Damn you west coast for luring our Tewligan away from us! My personal favorites - I have a special place in my heart for the tournament modules (Crypt of the Devil Lich, Vault of the Dragon Kings, Palace in the Wastes, and Chronicle of the Fiend). All of them are excellent. If...

    This gets my vote.

    Good city descriptions/atmosphere settings help

If you have the time, stop by a library and pick up Life in a Medieval City by Joseph Gies. It's a fantastic reference, and gives you some great descriptions to work with. When I was in college, I took Medieval Studies as a minor, and had to read one of Gies books...and it definitely had a...

    4e D&D GSL Live

I'm not a lawyer, so this comment may smack of ignorance, but... Is there anything keeping a gaming company from creating a new company (incorporating under a slightly different name and keeping the accounting books seperate) to publish 4E material (while still being able to publish 3E under...

    Puzzles in 4th Edition

I solved this by offering hints to PCs with higher intelligence. It allowed me to include puzzles without simply letting them roll dice.

    Castle Whiterock

I had hoped to get this as a Christmas gift, but it didn't happen. *grumble grumble* I'm not even GMing right now, and I STILL want to pick this up... :fathead wonders if the wife will notice the charge to our bank account...

    Drugs In Your Campaign World

The halflings have a fondness for Tillamook cheese, I hear. A cheese log is an excellent bribe.

Goodman Games' DDC writer Harley Stroh on Áereth

I'm curious...which DCCs have you played? My gaming group plays in a roleplaying intensive homebrew campaign, and as such has seldom use of modules...BUT, the DCCs offer the best shot at being integrated (I can pick and choose good combats), and is also our publisher of choice when we do...
