Just throwing this out about the Myconians, Fungi do not photosynthesize. In fact, direct sunlight is more likely to damage a mushroom than to promote growth. Really they should gain the bonus when in a cool damp place - like a dungeon.
Anyone else notice that the MM has no Good or Lawful Good monsters in it? It doesn't even have Gold Dragons and Unicorns (UNICORNS?!) are listed as Unaligned. Granted, this is from a d/l copy. My legit copy will ship soon though. So here's hoping it's different!
I completely disagree. DnD is and should be competitive. I shouldn't be able to randomly choose my feats and powers and make a character just as powerful as an experienced player. Perhaps a smaller gap between good and bad choices would be nice, but there should be an advantage to a player...
I don't think that's necessarily true. Ahglock's scenario could be making a threat. It's like Al Capone making people pay bribes for protection. It's a threat to expose the NPC to an existing threat.
In 4e bards will more closely resemble Tupac Shakur. Featured abilities include "Hit'em up", in which the Bard points out his enemies by name, and "Changes" which will show all PCs within 10 squares that the Bard isn't the stone cold gangsta they thought he was.
Why are we assuming long term aid? I certainly didn't. My scenario was "tell us what we want to know." There are no prolonged troop deployments or long-term goals which require the Duke to stay helpful. So I don't buy your "Intimidate wouldn't work in 3.x", because clearly it would it my...
The Great Unthinking Duke??
Intimidate: The NPC refuses to be intimidated by the PCs. Each use of this skill earns a failure.
Really?? Here's my setup:
The PCs are 25th level. Kingdoms rise and fall at their whim. All but the mightiest foes cower at their name. The PCs discover that this...
Maybe someone mentioned this already and I missed it but there's new Player's Handbook artwork on Amazon.com, here - http://www.amazon.com/Dungeons-Dragons-Players-Handbook-Roleplaying/dp/0786948671/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_b
I agree that they are similar. However, 2 of the players had never rolled a d20 in their lives - never role played, ever. Two others had about 4 weeks experience at 3.5. (The other has played for like eleven years) The experienced players were outnumbered two-to-one and we were still up and...
I realize that a similar post was already made but it seems that said post has turned into a rambling argument. So here's v2.0.
I just ran my first 4e playtest (using the PHB lite and Monsters and More.) There we six of us (1 DM + 5 players). Two of the players had never played a...
According to WotC playtester Keith Baker's blog, he keeps "making new characters - 'Goblin rogue! No, gnome warlock!'..." (emphasis added) This seems to indicate that there might already be rules in place for Gnome PCs. Check it out for yourself here -...
