I will probably back this one, despite having a fair bit of the older material. I've seen chatter that it's going to be "modernized," though. Streamlined, or something. Been a while since I looked, but I do not remember this one being at all crunchy lol.

I had expected one when Wizards pulled the plug on those Star Frontiers fan sites... This isn't "modernizing" or "streamlining," this is completely replacing. Leaving aside the entirely subjective question of whether ANA is good or not, these rules are seemingly not descended from any iteration...

Rebellion Unplugged's largest tabletop Kickstarter (Joyride) brought in a little less than Deluxe T&T. Their only roleplaying kickstarter, for Tiny in the Tower (granted, it didn't have an established name attached), brought in roughly 10% of what Deluxe T&T did.

I can't think of a worse fit for D&D than Traveller. But I feel that way about D&D for anything that isn't... well, D&D. No one is arguing that Rebellion doesn't own T&T, or that they can't do what they like with it. That'd just be silly. It's perfectly natural to compare and even criticiize...

There's a sleazy '90s Aussie vampire flick called Bloodlust. The soundtrack is made up entirely of Ministry side projects.

Not sure any of these have had continuous and compatible rulesets as long as T&T, but this kind of reinforces my point. As I've said previously (here or elsewhere, I can't remember), games that take an established set of rules with a fanbase and make sweeping changes are rarely popular or...
